Ashburn Clinic is made up of several buildings, the largest being our inpatient unit where residents live and attend many of the programme groups, and where the majority of our staff are situated.
We have a recreation hall which is equipped for a variety of indoor games, including volleyball, badminton, netball and indoor bowls, and some basic gym-style equipment. James Hume is a multi-function building used for group, office and residential space (if required), and Alexander House is where patients moving towards discharge reside, as it focuses on independent living. Our other buildings include the Medlicott Education Centre which is primarily used for staff meetings and educational seminars.
Inpatient Units
Gwen Wilson & Frank Hay Units
These two units are residential care facilities for inpatients with 24-hour nursing care and clinical support. Each patient has their own bedroom and participates in the appropriate programme for their needs. Therapeutic services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team. Access to community facilities includes a full food service, IT, recreational pursuits and extensive grounds.
Alexander House
Alexander House provides an independent living environment for those patients that are ready to take on more self-responsibility, including managing their medications and personal wellbeing. Patients are supported by staff to increase their capability for self-management and plan for discharge. Each patient has their own bedroom and takes responsibility for the running of the house, similar to a flatting situation. Entry to Alexander House is via transfer from the inpatient unit.
Hospital Grounds
Not only are the beautiful grounds at Ashburn therapeutic in themselves, we also have a recreation hall, outdoor tennis court and trampoline, for patients to enjoy. We also have our very own “Warm House”, which was built especially for us and provides a space for reflection and thoughtfulness.
Ashburn Clinic is a strictly drug and alcohol-free site. Smoking and vaping are also strictly prohibited inside any building at Ashburn, however, there is a designated area for patients to smoke outside.
Contractors
Businesses providing services to Ashburn Clinic need to have prior approval before carrying out any work on-site. This involves submitting an application and relevant Health & Safety documentation, which is then assessed by Ashburn staff.
- Complete our Contractor Application Form and Health & Safety Acknowledgement to demonstrate appropriate health and safety practices. You can also upload any supporting documents through this form.
- Read the Contractor Information Booklet.
- Our staff will assess your application, and we’ll be in touch to advise the outcome.
Once approved, any staff who come on site will be taken through an induction.
