A Unique Approach Centred on a Democratic Therapeutic Community

Ashburn Clinic provides a supportive, Democratic Therapeutic Community for mental health and addiction treatment in Dunedin, New Zealand. Our comprehensive care helps you regain independence, confidence and the ability to function in day-to-day life.

Ashburn focuses on lasting recovery by equipping you with the tools for sustainable wellbeing. Our approach helps you to develop the skills needed to maintain your mental health long after treatment.

Ashburn Clinic is a not-for-profit psychiatric hospital offering a professional, supportive environment for diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and recovery from mental illness or addiction. Using a Democratic Therapeutic Community model, we work to assist people toward healthy lives and behaviour patterns, developing the tools needed to overcome difficult situations. Together, we aim to learn more about your personal challenges and struggles in order to improve your ability to effect personal change.

Referrals to Ashburn Clinic must come from a health professional, such as a GP or Psychiatrist.

“Nothing has been as life-changing”

I have tried other treatment places, but nothing has been as life-changing and good as coming to Ashburn. Ashburn is about looking at who you are, working through the past, changing, and being supported to move forward. My work here has meant I won’t continue my cycle through the system.
